The Goal
Your team shares one secret Quantum Code, a single cell hidden somewhere on the 16×16 Quantum Matrix. Work together to deduce it and call a correct Measurement before the system decoheres.
Your Clues
- Each player is dealt 1–2 private Wavelength Clues, think of these as your qubit's own frequency: only true for the hidden code, and only visible to you.
- Everyone shares one public Entanglement Clue, comparing two qubit positions (same or different).
Communication Rules
Players may talk freely about strategy and about anything visibly on the board, including reasoning out loud about other players' tokens. Three things are never allowed:
- Never state, describe, or hint at the content of your own Wavelength Clue.
- Never confirm or deny anything about your clue except through the formal Read Interference step of an active player's turn, no answering side questions about it outside of being properly asked.
- Never reference or explain the tokens you personally placed on the board, though everyone else is free to observe, discuss, and reason about any tokens on the board, including yours.
On Your Turn
- Draw an Environment card. Revealed automatically at the start of your turn, before you apply your gate:
- Coherence (Maintained). Play continues as normal, you'll choose a teammate to Read Interference after applying your gate.
- Constructive Cascade. Every other player reads the interference at once after you apply your gate, no need to choose.
- Noise. A decoherence strike. Otherwise your turn plays out as normal, you'll still choose a teammate to Read Interference. Only the 3rd Noise card ends the mission immediately, before that reading.
- Apply a Gate. Pick any cell that matches ALL of your own clues, like running a logic gate on your qubit to test it. Your token lands there, always your player color in a circle, since it's guaranteed to be constructive.
- Read Interference (another player). Choose one teammate, they place a token on that same cell: a circle if their clue's frequency constructively interferes with it, a square with an X if it's destructive. (Automatic for everyone on Cascade; skipped only if the 3rd Noise card just ended the game.)
- Play passes to the next player, who immediately draws the next Environment card.
Deduction
Use the growing pattern of constructive (circle) and destructive (square X) tokens across the board, plus your own “Highlight valid cells” toggle, to narrow down which cell must be the true code.
Calling a Measurement
On your turn, instead of applying a gate, any human player may call a Measurement on the cell they believe is the answer.
Measurement is final. Guess right and the team wins instantly. Guess wrong and the team loses instantly.
Win or Lose
- Win. Correctly call Measurement on the hidden Quantum Code.
- Lose. 3 Noise cards are drawn (full decoherence), or a Measurement is called on the wrong cell.
